Love the skiing and the town vibe. Sure, it’s changing a little, but what isn’t? The naysayer reviewers need to grow up and realize nothing ever stays the same and maybe it gets better but different.... Full Review

Steamboat has changed, and not for the good. I will get to that below. If you like tree skiing and a variety of terrain, then Steamboat is very good. The people are friendly and the town is real and enjoyable. I could go from glade to glade all day. Nice place. It has been unbeatable for me. But!!! Steamboat has changed just over the last two to three years. They constructed a new, quality gondola, and are now part of the Ikon pass. Those things sound good at first, but now the mountain routinely becomes over crowded. Lift lines at the base are incredible. You may very well wait over an hour even if you show up 30 minutes prior to the lifts opening. And many of the express chairs up in the mountain get extremely crowded (wait times over 30 minutes). You simply will not be able to ski the terrain you want. Your ticket (over $200.) will not give you much vertical in a day compared. Pick you dates carefully. That is sad because I genuinely love The Boat. I have held Steamboat as my favorite for years, but right now, as things are, it just gets too crowded.... Full Review

Meh. Just another overgrown resort with little character. Was definitely better back in the day but good luck getting powder now. Ikon pretty much ruined things.... Full Review

This is a beautiful ski area, with wonderful staff who are always helpful. The snow is amazing, and a challenging mountain. Try to come here on quiet days, not the holidays. Get up early, and you will experience the best powder in the USA this year. ... Full Review

Very diverse mountain that will challenge all levels of ability. Enormous mountain with plenty of available amenities. Very polite, happy, enjoyable and fun staff that keep customers coming back for more. Expensive hobby so be prepared to show off the Dollar availability. Going big!... Full Review

Steamboat is a terrible mountain. It is exorbitantly expensive. A price only a Texan oil tycoon could afford. Many of them visit this place and ski in jeans. The quality of snow that the northern area of Colorado, where Steamboat is, receives is terrible. Difficult runs do not exist at this mountain even if you know where to look. That is why they do not produce world class snow sport athletes like many other Colorado mountains. The tree skiing is poor and does not provide nearly the experience of resorts like Keystone. The lines are extremely long and the mountain is disjointed. The lifties are wooks. Apres, because were all here to party, is poor. Avoid at all cost and visit a superior mountain like Breckenridge or Vail.... Full Review

More waiting in line than skiing. Hour long lines for every lift. Skiers swearing in front of my kids and many other people being just plain rude, pushing.... Full Review

I have been taking my family to Steamboat since 2005. It use to be cheaper than other resorts in Colorado. These days has become as expensive as other bigger mountains. It is loosing its magic. It is sad because I have so many good memories of my son in Steamboat and I think this is our last year going. At least until I win the Lotto or something.Haha.... Full Review

A go skiing with a group of friends every year and we go to different places. I’ve skied most of the resorts in Colorado, some in Utah and California. Steamboat is my favorite resort of all of them. The town retains its cowboy past and the ski area is just fantastic. That being said, this year will probably be my last time to Steamboat as it is just too damn expensive. Lift tickets, even with multi day and discounts is over $100/day!... Full Review

I grew up and Steamboat and was never a big skier in the town. I always enjoyed going to other places. As an adult I can come back to Steamboat and realize it is one of the best resorts in the world. I never appreciated it but now I do because of how good you can feel while skiing! I have never had a bad snow day since I moved back! ... Full Review
